In the early 90s a loose-knit group of outsiders, including Harmony Korine and Shepherd Fairey, met up around a little NYC gallery. Rooted in skateboarding, surf, punk, hip hop and graffiti, they made art that reflected their lives and, with almost no influence from the 'establishment' art world, they transformed pop culture. This documentary celebrates the spirit behind these artists.

On 6 August we have a Slam City Skates launch for the film at 8.30pm, with a Q&A and party.

INSA x NIKE Exhibition

In 7 days INSA ran the city of east London, painting 35 pieces on route of Charlie Dark's map for The IAM1 Journey Nike Sportswear project. Produced by Protein and documented by INSA's long time collaborator, photographer Ethel, each of the 35 hand painted pieces form one of the centre pieces of INSAs major London solo show for 2009. This IAM1 Journey animation will be deconstructed within the "Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places" show with behind-the-scenes processes alongside the original painted objects that make up the individual frames.

"Here is a look at the sneaker that Vans will be selling in shops that sling their Syndicate stuff...I was approached by buddies at Vans to take an existing style they were already running and pick some materials, colors and such... I decided to massage the avsk8lo model because I felt they never gave this model enough love in the choices available... So here you have it, thick waxy leather up front, ballistic nylon where normally canvas would be used... Waxed cotton laces and a red leather footbed with some graphics... This joint will be available in Navy w/white stitching and Black w/black stitching... Sorry I can't tell you exactly where to get this shoe, as S/Double is not involved in the selling or distribution... Ask around at your local shop that sells Vans for some details... This is a Syndicate thing that I guess you could say I guest designed on for them... I really want to get my hands on a pair of those Navy ones... I am feeling the marine, boating vibe of it...
